Soccer Club Dava Academy is thrilled to announce the addition of Coach Juan Gomez to our coaching staff. With a distinguished background in soccer that spans multiple levels of competitive play and coaching, Coach Gomez brings a wealth of experience and a passion for developing young talent.

The Estadio Azteca in Mexico City holds a revered status, having hosted historic moments in football history, including the infamous “Hand of God” goal by Diego Maradona during the 1986 FIFA World Cup.

About Coach Juan

Born and raised in Colombia, Juan began his soccer journey in youth leagues, where he quickly established himself as a talented and dedicated player. His skills and determination led him to play college soccer in the United States, further sharpening his understanding of the game. Juan’s journey continued with competitive play in USL2, where he honed not only his abilities but also his deep appreciation for the sport’s strategic and technical aspects.

At Soccer Club Dava Academy, Coach Gomez will focus on coaching our U4-U7 academy kids. His primary goal is to nurture the youngest players, helping them build a solid foundation of soccer skills while fostering a love for the game. Juan’s coaching approach combines fun, creativity, and structured learning to ensure our youngest athletes develop both on and off the field.

As a coach, Juan is dedicated to fostering both athletic excellence and personal growth in his players. His coaching philosophy emphasizes skill development and instilling values such as teamwork, resilience, and respect. “Soccer is more than just a sport,” says Juan. “It’s an opportunity to shape character, inspire young athletes, and build a sense of community.”
